Arithmatica Expands Business to Japan and Korea
Distributors Marubeni and SysVERI to Offer Breakthrough IP for Math-Intensive Chips

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - May 17, 2004 - Arithmatica, Inc., a silicon math company, today announced it is expanding its business to Japan and Korea through exclusive distributor relationships with Marubeni Solutions Corporation and SysVERI Co., Ltd respectively. Arithmatica's IP, through its proprietary algorithms, offers significant improvements in performance and area of math-intensive ICs and is easily integrated into existing design flows.

"We are impressed with Arithmatica's ability to increase performance and lower costs of ICs through its unique silicon IP, and we are excited to bring its CellMath products to the Japanese market," said Masabumi Doi, Director and General Manager, Marubeni Solutions Corporation. "With Japan's leadership position in consumer electronics products, we think Arithmatica's products will help Japanese consumer electronics companies meet their demand for lower-cost, higher-quality 3D graphics and media processing ICs."

"We believe Arithmatica's IP will greatly benefit high-tech companies in Korea," said Charlie Shin, Director, Worldwide Business Development, SysVERI. "More than ever, companies developing consumer electronic products need to deliver highly optimized deep-submicron designs. We think Arithmatica can help Korean companies give these IC products a competitive advantage in terms of performance, power and cost."

"We are especially pleased to partner with Marubeni and SysVERI because Japan and Korea are very important markets for Arithmatica," said Dave Burow, Arithmatica's CEO. "Japan and Korea are leaders in consumer electronics. In these dynamic markets with short development cycles, proximity to customers and local market knowledge is key. We see these partnerships significantly improving our ability to rapidly deliver Arithmatica's benefits to these major Asian markets."

The CellMath product line is available immediately in Japan and Korea through Marubeni and SysVERI.

About CellMath
The CellMath™ product line is comprised of a Graphics Library, Processor Library and Configurable Instances implemented using a broad portfolio of proven, proprietary algorithms backed by a pipeline of 15 patent applications. These provide a rich set of application-level functions - for example, literally millions of permutations of floating-point dot product and multiply-accumulate configurations - that are delivered as gate-level Verilog netlists and bit-accurate simulation models. Each function can be tailored for bit width, speed and area goals, pipelining and internal precision, among other configuration options.

The CellMath product line improves verification productivity and lowers risk by providing simulation models that are formally verified against the gate-level netlist. Companies doing standard cell or custom IC design can take advantage of CellMath without changing their design flow, libraries or process technology.

Recently NVIDIA and Xilinx announced they have incorporated Arithmatica's technology in their next generation of market leading products. Arithmatica's licensing model includes a project-based, non-royalty fee pricing structure, eliminating periodic time-consuming accounting and payment procedures.
